Encouragement

Things that have helped me during the last three months:

-Online Shopping; when I got stimulus packages or extra money, I bought items from my wish lists to keep me busy as well as keep my attention on tracking the packages.  I got CDs from bands I like, a ton of MP3s, several action figures and figurines and a few DVDs.

-Watching favorite movies; A good film can take you out of your troubles and let you feel something else for around an hour and a half to two hours.  Throughout these months, I watched Godspell, Fairy Tail; Dragon Cry, Wonder Woman, Godzilla; King of the Monsters, Birds of Prey, Godzilla vs. Mothra (Mothra vs. Godzilla for the International title purists) and Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla.

-Making and testing Playlists: Music can boost your mood and help you work through rough emotions.  I made several themed playlists based around relaxing, comedy, anger and the LGBTQ+ Community.

- (Possibly just Me) Playing Fire Emblem; Three Houses-One of the reasons I chose the Black Eagles route was that it allowed me to healthily work through my feelings caused by the current administration.  A dictatorial figure who sees itself as god?  That sounds familiar…  Also, I was able to recruit everyone I wanted to, so my army feels like a group of friends.  This is honestly the most fun and joy I’ve gotten out of the Fire Emblem series ever.

-Making Projects; Making the project for Pride Month gave me something to focus on and work to research rather than worry about all the things that could happen.  I learned a lot about a variety of musicians whose work I enjoy and look forward to sharing more of that information with everyone.

My county entered Phase 2 this last weekend, so hopefully things will start improving soon.  It’s been so long since we didn’t have such strict restrictions, I’ve pretty much gotten used to them, so I’ll have to remind myself to do certain things again.  One thing I’m glad for, I may be able to see my Mom again as early as this weekend, I haven’t seen her outside of Zoom and brief drop-offs of food since March.  If so, I look forward to giving her her Mother’s Day present.  Hopefully, this also means it won’t be long until I start seeing more of my loved ones as well.

Hang in there, everyone, I think we might be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
