I've been on perfectionist overdrive on my mind/completely terrified because billionaires/CEOs/Politicians have been showing for the last year and a half how ruthless they are and how many yes-men they have who will willingly walk off a cliff for them. It makes me want to just stay in telling Tara Platt "Edelgard helped in 2020/you are best Mom (she plays Sailor Moon’s Mom, Blake’s Mom and is a Mom in real life)," the Edelgard/Byleth relationship, Laura Bailey as Rise Kujikawa, Yuri Lowenthal giving me advice with neighbors, chatting with Dawn M. Bennett about Nabbit, Shin Ultraman, Chris Hackney in Ultraman and Zelda and Matthew Mercer should be every end boss, Xanthe Huynh making chocolate and being Bernadetta’s best friend and Abby Trott and Ben Diskin playing cute couples, Abby saying "sweet treats I can't wait to eats" and maybe meeting her at Washington State Summer Con. I wanted to show that with the voice acting playlist this World Voice Day. I don’t know if I did, I feel it got bogged down with half-hour videos of Social Links and videos of things that had nothing to do with that. Still, though, I’m glad I made it and I don’t want to shave it down to that just yet, I feel it can help someone as is, creating warm feelings and help them through something bad they’re going through. I don’t like to delete things off the internet unless they were created in hate for this reason.
I finally created my “Favorites of 2024” in Spotify, I’ve not been using the app that much this year because I’ve been just so terrified about impermanence and leaving a mark. What does it mean if this app says you did all these things if you didn’t import your old music to iTunes and didn’t get it to 20 plays? What if vice versa? What does anything mean? Our lives are becoming measured by data and trusted by computers, rather than our brains and hearts, and computers can be tricked. I’ve seen AI imagery of women with three legs and it got more likes than people pointing out that was weird.
I’ve tried diving into the Power Rangers tabletop RPG, customizing it with bios of my favorite monsters (because I don’t have the rulebook to do the allies, zords and Rangers yet) and it’s honestly been fine so long as I don’t try to be a perfectionist about it. Honestly, I feel I need to be a player in a campaign to understand it before I can fully customize it, but I think people would be glad I’m showing interest in taking it to “House Rules” level and including Ninja Storm, which often feels ignored and overshadowed.
Tonight, both Taylor Swift and Pearl Jam are releasing albums. I want to get at least some of Taylor Swift’s album because she is a good person and inspirational to a bisexual Christian I ran with on Twitter before I could only stand the voice actors there and all of Pearl Jam’s because Eddie Vedder can’t stand Trump and the band is the Pride of Seattle. Other upcoming albums I’m looking forward to are Lee Aaron’s covers album (which promises Heart, Alice Cooper, Fleetwood Mac and Jet), Slash (a blues album with Demi Lovato, Paul Rodgers and Gary Clark Jr.), Bear McCreary (a concept album featuring his brother, Serj Tankian, Slash and Joe Satriani), Bon Jovi and Black Country Communion. Great albums thus far this year include Artimus Pyle Band, Judas Priest, Ariana Grande, Beyonce and Zakk Sabbath.
I want to leave you with this thought. Do you think the billionaires, CEOs and Politicians are aware for the last year and a half, they've been conveying the message there's 500 of them, 200,000,000 of us, but they're humans with access to fumigators and we're insects and they're willing to bet they can survive off just 100 of us contributing to the economy so long as those 100 are mindless yes-men? Because they sure are acting like genocide to that degree is on the table.
