Monday, 10/21 update

I can't sleep, I've had a lot on my mind, so I'm going to write it out.  I was told last post went for a total mood shift, and the fact is my anxiety is really bad about this election.  I don't even like posting songs from 2016 because I'm afraid it'll make the same thing happen.  There is a lot of fear in Kamala's fundraiser emails and I can't do anything about it because I don't have the money to help.  This causes me to catastrophize, which I've honestly been doing as long as I remember.  My friend Alan says I need more testosterone, but I'm not so sure, I feel like I've done so many anti-depressants and anxiety remedies that I'm starting to accept this is just who I am and how my brain works.  All the medication does it make it easier to deal with and if I can push it out and focus out of tension, it can be gone for a few minutes.

My Church is sending "Get Out The Vote" postcards to Ohio and Georgia, I didn't write any because I knew my emotions would get in the way, but I did ask for some help in prayer.  I asked that the voice actors who've been kind to me would reunite on BlueSky and that their jobs would be safe from AI, as well as blessings on this person from North Carolina who wanted music help from the Brandi Carlile group I'm a part of on Facebook.  I suggested Noah Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks, anything written by her or Christine McVie for Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty, and I'm mostly praying for them because I feel Hurricane Helene and the blatant lies about FEMA mean music's just one problem this person is facing.  I also got to chat up Brandi Carlile's music to a fellow congregant.

The World Series is Yankees vs. Dodgers, the 4th time this has happened with the Dodgers in L.A. and apparently it happened even more when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers.  I tortured social media by reminding them of when 4 Dodgers players ruined "We Are The Champions" last time this happened already.  Here's some things to showcase just how long it's been.

-Journey releases "Escape" with the hit "Don't Stop Believin'"

-Nintendo releases an Arcade Game called "Donkey Kong" where you play as a brand new character named "Mario."

-Ozzy Osbourne releases his second (and sadly, last) studio album with Randy Rhoads as a guitarist, Diary of a Madman.

-Black Sabbath releases their second album with Ronnie James Dio, Mob Rules.

-My Mom is hired by the Bellingham School District as a Middle School Teacher

-Joan Jett releases "I Love Rock N Roll."

-Van Halen releases Fair Warning with "Unchained" on it.

-Laura Bailey of Persona and Critical Role fame is born on May 28.

-Ronald Reagan is sworn in as President of the United States

-Ringo Starr releases "Stop and Smell the Roses."

-Rush releases "Moving Pictures."

This is mostly for people I know who are a lot older than me to be surprised at the fact that 43 years have passed and it was either a blink of an eye or a slow, long slog.  Maybe your memories will be vague, like me with Bob Saget hosting America's Funniest Home Videos or Nirvana (or rather, Nyevana).  Either way, happy reminiscing.
