First post of 2023

Feeling a little refreshed now that the chaos of 2022 is in the past and things are quiet for the first 8 hours of 2023, enabling me to relax a bit and listen to some Christian Music because it's Sunday.

First order of blog business, or "blogness," is that ten or so songs released in December were good enough for my Favorites of 2022.

1.) Simple Man (Lynyrd Skynyrd cover, Spotify only)-First to Eleven

2.) Achy Breaky Heart (Caribbean version)-Billy Ray Cyrus

3.) Where'm I Gonna Live? (Caribbean version)-Billy Ray Cyrus

4.) Silent Night-Billy Ray Cyrus and FIREROSE

5.) Angel-Jimi Hendrix and ZAYN

6.) This Christmas Time-Evamore, Casi Wyn and Ozzy Osbourne

7.) Set For Life-Noah Cyrus

8.) It's a Wonderful Life-George Lynch and Jeff Pilson

9.) Judgement Day-Kings of Chaos (Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan, Slash, Dave Kushner) (was listed as a 2022 song in a Guitar Magazine Poll, as was the next one)

10.) Lux AEterna-Metallica

However, a Tweet from Billboard Magazine made me narrow my focus down to the select few I could fit in a Tweet, plus two more, so here they are; my absolute favorite songs of 2022:

1.) Burn (Live) – The Dead Daisies

2.) Wrecking Ball x Nothing Compares 2 U (Live) – Miley Cyrus

3.) Patient Number 9 – Ozzy Osbourne and Jeff Beck

4.) Immortal – Ozzy Osbourne, Mike McCready and Duff McKagan

5.) Parasite – Ozzy Osbourne and Zakk Wylde

6.) Degradation Rules – Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi

7.) Dub Love - Big Lugg, Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt

8.) Becky’s So Hot– FLETCHER

9.) Her Body Is Bible – FLETCHER

There are too many good candidates for what 10 would be, Miley's live "Heart of Glass," "WTF Do I Know," "Nothing Breaks Like A Heart" and "Fly on the Wall" performances, "Fans," also by Big Lugg, Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt, "Born to Fly" by The Dead Daisies, several live Guns N Roses cuts, such as "Don't Cry" from their recent tour or "Mama Kin" with "Train Kept A-Rollin'" with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and several tracks by Steven Curtis Chapman.

The next single by Revolution Saints (Deen Castronovo, Joel Hoekstra and Jeff Pilson) is due out this Thursday at 9:00 pm PST and Miley Cyrus' next song is coming one week later.  Hopefully, this is the start to a good musical year.  I also changed my Facebook and Twitter cover images to show my excitement for Fire Emblem; Engage and my gratitude to Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt and Abby Trott for being voices of good characters, reason and fun during these rough last few years.  Thank you very much and I look forward to your 2023 voice acting output.
