Journal for 10/27/2022, Music releases for 10/28/2022

It’s Thursday once again, the last one of October with only two months left in this pretty insane year.  I would not say it’s been as bad as 2020, but the election is still to come, with several states voting for governors or secretaries of state, some of which are Trump-backed and plan to abuse their office to throw out the votes and award the Republican candidate the electoral college points regardless of if they won the state or not.  They will likely do this to all senators and representatives, as well.  Washington State is not in danger of this, but Pennsylvania, Nevada, Ohio and other swing states are, so spread the news to them if you can.

Music last week was pretty fun and varied, with a release from The Beatles of John Lennon writing the first verse of “Yellow Submarine.”  Tegan and Sara’s album was a nice alternative pop album with good vocals and a bit of an everyday approach to the lyrics.  Guns N Roses released a nice live version of Double-Talking Jive from 1992, Solar and YESUNG had a good K-Pop track, and BabyMetal released what I guess is the first single from their album coming in March, which was a good return to form for them and nice to hear new studio music from them after 3 years.  Geoff Tate had a good song with German project Avantasia, Elvis had a great live version of “How Great Thou Art” and even Taylor Swift and Stryper snuck on with Taylor’s duet with Lana del Rey and Stryper’s two genuine praise songs.  Most of their album was political complaints and apocalyptic warfare threats against society, though, so I’d skip the rest if I were you.

I keep claiming I’m going to quit Twitter and video games, when the reality is I don’t know what to do with them at this point in time.  Really, here are my current triggers/thinks that make me mad:

Triggers:

-Twitter posts and replies not getting likes

-Being unable to relate to Tara Platt’s Twitter posts (I want to connect with her more because she seems like a smart, funny woman, but it’s hard when her tweets can be about scientific knowledge I didn’t acquire, 1890s-1950s music or Anime/games she’s been in I haven’t played nor had any desire/means to, it makes me feel dumb at times)

-Anything Political, especially anything pro-Trump and anti-Kamala Harris, Maria Cantwell or Patty Murray

-Smoke alarms

-Getting killed in video games

-Overspending

-Getting overdraft Fees

-Taylor Swift

-Johnny Depp

-Zendaya

-DeviantArt

-Hate towards Edelgard, Erza, Miley Cyrus, Amber Heard, Tara Platt/her other characters, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Fairy Tail the series, the Cyrus family, Roman Reigns, Rise Kujikawa, Laura Bailey

-My stories not getting likes

-Homophobic Christians telling me I need to be homophobic and prejudiced

-Posts I make about Annette getting more likes than posts about Edelgard, suggesting I have to choose between them to be popular when other people don’t seem to care that I like both (these people, the plush makers, tier makers, Tara Platt and Abby Trott, are the people I like talking to the most).

-People giving me advice on how to live in general, like “watch the MCU, the DCEU is trash,” “root for the Astros/Yankees/Blue Jays, the Mariners are terminally retarded and will never play in the World Series,” “get an Xbox/PlayStation, Nintendo sucks balls,” “when are you playing the Blue Lions route?  Dimitri rules and is genuinely sympathetic, Edelgard is just woman Hitler and is badly written weeb trash.”

-People being racist to Japan

-Heteronormativity towards Bumbleby (Blake and Yang in RWBY).

-Male abusers calling their abuse victims abusers or consensual.

-Meme crap online that looks like it was made by stupid eight-year-olds.

-AI art (it looks really dang good, but it’s made by computers/robots, not actual people, and will change the landscape of online art for the worse)

-People using characters that are not theirs/people who are not them as their personal opinion spewer/confirmer (common ones are Mario, Sonic, any Disney character, Drake and any video game character in E-rated games)

-Spoiled, Bratty children

-People telling me how much sugar I should put in my coffee

-Parents who let their kids watch R-rated films, join porn sites or play T-rated or higher games

-feeling like I have to keep my music away from hard rock and metal until 10:00 am unless it’s explicitly religious so as not to disturb the neighbors.

This week already had good releases from Nita Strauss and Jimi Hendrix and has the Revolver Super Deluxe Edition by The Beatles coming out, with three more “Yellow Submarine”-related bonus tracks, a release from GameChops, so it’ll be renditions of video game music, namely Legend of Zelda, the album is called Zelda and Chill III, blues woman Joanne Shaw Taylor has a new album, complete with a collaboration with blues tour-de-force Joe Bonamassa and Macklemore has a new release.  Also, at 9:00 pm PDT on the 28th, the Monalisa Twins will be releasing a new album, they made one of my favorite Beatles cover albums.  I’ll chat at you next week.

89 songs from 1989 (sort of)

I said I'd do it, and after a long, difficult journey, I managed to get 89 songs from 1989, more or less.  Some of these songs kind of need an asterisk by them since they were from 1988 releases or released 1988 or earlier but charted as hit singles in 1989, the Billboard Hot 100 #1 on my Birth Week is credited to 1987 in iTunes!  However, most of the songs are from 1989 releases or were (probably) recorded in 1989 based on the band that made them, and if not, they left a mark on my birth year, like the birth mark on my second toe on my right foot.  Without further ado, 89 songs from 1989, my birth year.
