I hope I can share this right

I have been frustrated by what little I can do in these times, and upset by the far-right fascist uprising as it conjures memories from a very rough time in my life and I don't know how to "shut off" the parts of the internet that remind me of it.  2020-2021 was a rough time for at least America, if not the world, but due to my anxiety and depression, it was really tough on me.  I kept thinking of imagery of Trump chaining me to a wall as he lowered LGBTQ+ people I knew into a meat grinder, broke my femurs and let them heal improperly, and had someone beat me in the face and chest for fun.  I was hopeful the election would turn out positive, but I lost a lot along the way because one, inescapable fact reigns in this country, the most vocal American Christians despise LGBTQ+ people to the point they are willing to sell their souls to people like Trump to be rid of them.

Not the majority, not most of the ones I know, the ones who make noise, and they will make so much noise you will forget the others exist even if you're walking in stride with them.  They become so awful you fear them and hate them.  You don't believe the law is ever going to be in your favor.  You don't believe any sunlight will ever smile on you.  You think of overdosing on your pills, you believe you'll make it to the positive afterlife, why waste your remaining days in prison and torture?

Then you play a video game and hear your complaints echoed by the protagonist you chose because she sounds like Mitsuru from Persona 3.  A theocratic system of oppression that feels disconnected from religious faith and all based around control, keeping the wealthy happy and ignoring the oppressed.  A determined young woman with a calming voice works her way into your heart, and after a last stand by the obese fascist and some internet curiosities on DeviantArt, Twitter and Kickstarter, you go back to her world to experience the cute, singing, funny redhead from another house by recruiting her.  Tara Platt and Abby Trott become the best things about the internet.

Now, because he's rigged the courts, Trump's back on the ballot and unlikely to see the inside of a jail cell in his lifetime, which is going to go for several more decades considering the likely organ transplants the Republicans will give him to keep him alive through the tricentennial and begin their new, 3rd American Holocaust.  No one's listening to me and I think it likely he will win by people writing 3rd Party candidates, "Ceasefire," or Bernie Sanders rather than voting for Biden.  I've taken so many screenshots and YouTube videos of Three Houses, it won't help anymore for this.  I do intend to play Three Hopes again some time, but Annette doesn't join the Black Eagles and I'm hesitant because it'd be too easy to make a mistake and kill Byleth, and this time, I want to recruit Byleth and get her and Edelgard's support conversations.  Unicorn Overlord features a lot of the same voices, like Erica Mendez, Dawn M. Bennett, Xanthe Huynh and Jeannie Tirado, but no Tara and Abby, plus progress is slow and a little frightening because it's easy to get stuck and die.  And I feel that's my fate in everything; get stuck and die.
