I'm improving somewhat outside my apartment, talking realistically and not going overboard with Mom and Dad lately, whose opinion matters to me most. But, inside the apartment I still feel like a wreck more than half the time. The anger about the Gaza-Israel situation makes me so angry part of me wants to destroy Israel for what it is doing, bomb them so they can see what it's like, conveniently forgetting that's how this started. It got to the point I screamed through an email at MoveOn.org before unsubscribing, which is admittedly an action I should've done a long time ago. To hear them talk, Trump's victory is inevitable unless you donate a generous amount immediately, give until it hurts then give some more, which I no longer want to do, especially not when I see headlines of Biden raising millions.
No, I have issues elsewhere right now. I'm almost 35 and I feel I should act my age and play less video games, especially since I hear they will replace the Switch soon. My housekeeper my Mom generously pays for keeps throwing out my insect traps, so they keep resurging. I swear I'm the only Three Houses fan who put Edelgard and Annette together for the gentle Monastery events due to Tara Platt's calm and Abby Trott's exuberance, and for some reason, I can't let that go. There are some gaming things I can let go, like I beat Super Mario RPG with Mario, Bowser and Peach while the guide says "use Mallow or Geno," or I pair Samus and Zelda in Smash Bros., or put Edelgard-colored Byleth with Mii Gunner Annette, regular Byleth, Mii Swordfighter Mitsuru Kirijo or some combination, or I play Mii Brawler Rise Kujikawa with Chrom and Lucina on Thursdays and play with Rise Kujikawa and Mitsuru Kirijo, the latter against Aigis in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax just due to remembering Anime Washington, but I can't let go that social media thinks Edelgard's a monster, I can't let go that I'm probably the only one who had lunch, tea and choir practice with Edelgard and Annette often and I can't let go that Paper Mario; the Thousand-Year Door is more popular that Super Paper Mario. I feel like a freak.
The strongest contenders for "Album of the Year" right now are Judas Priest's "Invincible Shield," which followed the formula that worked 6 years ago for "Firepower" and included more lyrics about Heavy Metal, corrupt politicians and the righteousness of God, or Bear McCreary's "The Singularity," a metal concept album about either a robot or a black hole with singing appearances by Bear's brother Brendan (who has worked with Tara Platt on the show "Shelf Life," the two even sang a duet where he played a rapping David Lee Roth-type character), Serj Tankian, Corey Taylor and Esjay Jones, as well as guitar contributions by Slash and Joe Satriani (and possibly Kim Thayil, as well). Lee Aaron's cover album "Tattoo Me" is good as well, with covers of Heart, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Fleetwood Mac and Elton John. The Alice Cooper cover is right before the Fleetwood Mac cover, causing a wild tone shift. This Thursday at 9:00, Miley Cyrus will release a cover of the Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer" while Slash will release his Blues album with singing appearances by Gary Clark Jr., Paul Rodgers and Demi Lovato.
Tonight, I'm going to see my second Mariner game, where they play the Kansas City Royals. The Royals have Bobby Witt Jr., Kyle Isbel, Hunter Renfroe (who I saw play for the Eugene Emeralds 11 years ago) and Adam Frazier, so it sounds like it'll be a good game. The Mariners just got back in first, here's hoping they can stay there against a good wild card team.
