Probably last music update for 2021

Ariana Grande was on fire last weekend, releasing two great seasonal singles, one with Kid Cudi and the other with Jimmy Fallon and Megan Thee Stallion, thus proving Mariah Carey doesn't "own Christmas," Ariana Grande does if any pop star does through these collaborations, her original "Santa, Tell Me," her version of "Last Christmas" and her duets with Idina Menzel and Kelly Clarkson.  Elton John's collaboration with Ed Sheeran was also a great Christmas song.

This week has the last major releases of the year, a "Live at the BBC" album from Green Day, a new studio album by Alicia Keys and an album of new performances of Stephen Schwartz music, the man behind "Godspell," "Wicked," "Prince of Egypt" and several Disney songs.  Aside from that, the only thing I know that's being released for the rest of the year is a live Chuck Berry album next week.

My favorite songs of this year have undergone some minor revisions due to the new Christmas songs, but so I maximize everything good that can be on it, I'm going to wait until next week, possibly the week after, then post the Spotify playlist to Twitter and Facebook rather than post the wall of text here.  Next year, I aim to spend money less frivolously on music and just use Spotify to do the collecting, saving my MP3 budget for songs I really like during the year or old favorites I've lost access to over the years.

I have also decided I want to start focusing my entertainment budget and energy towards music and baseball, the pandemic has made me play a lot of video games, watch a lot of anime and read a lot of manga and I feel kind of burned out by the whole experience, to the point that I honestly am thinking I just want Metroid Dread, Miitopia and Splatoon 3 and a current arc in Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest before just not spending any more money on that well for entertainment or asking for it for birthdays and/or Christmas.  I feel overworked, burned out and emotionally beaten up and devastated and unlike others my age or older, I don't think I'm meant to endure this too much longer, that there needs to be a cutoff point where I focus on non-fiction and settle down from all these high-stakes adventures that put so many characters I love in peril.  Besides, with new albums from Slash, Eddie Vedder, Guns N Roses and Ozzy Osbourne happening in 2022, plus concerts from K.Flay and the mega-concert of Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue and Def Leppard, plus other things I want to try to get involved with, I probably won't have the time or budget for much that isn't music and baseball.  I'm sorry to think I might end a part of my entertainment world, but right now, it feels less like fun and more like a burden that I do to try to stay knowledgeable about what I love.  It may just be time to end it.  That's all for now, I might post again by the end of the year, but we'll see.
