“Ghost of You” was another standout track by Elegant Weapons, I really enjoy when modern metal/hard rock albums make a bluesy piece, like “Enough of Your Love” by Iconic last year.
I’ve discovered that part of my family’s compassion is conditional. A close relative said they’d break all ties with me and make sure other close relatives did the same if I didn’t keep my apartment spotless. This just sends me into a depression that keeps me from action, even if they didn’t mean it, it says their familial compassion has a limit and if I don’t stay inside the bounds, they will cut it off and do their best to keep me out of the family until it’s time to bury me. It’s times like this I miss Three Houses and spending time with Edelgard and Annette, enjoying pastries and conversation about them and the cats that roam the Monastery as they encouraged me and Tara Platt’s calming voice and Abby Trott’s excited voice put my mind at piece, feeling capable of handling the monsters and hurtful people in the game. Where is that in my reality? Why am I surrounded by hatred, homophobia, cruel jokes, extremism and a demand to always be perfect? I can’t make noise or the neighbors will be angry, I can’t relax or the place becomes a mess, I can’t spend money or I’m broke and hungry, I can’t enjoy my music or gaming without thinking some extremist will come in and say it’s leading me to hellfire! This causes me to overspend on metal music and LGBTQ+ music because I just want to fucking scream! But I can’t do it out loud! The Mariners are currently playing the Yankees with baseball’s golden calf, Aaron Judge on full display and every time I see the fucking Yankees score runs I just hear an obnoxious, half-drunk voice yell, “GO YANKEES, GO YANKEES, GO YANKEES, RAAAAAA!” I’m sick of all this tension and I just want to let it out in a glorious explosion of spending money or screaming while I smash something to debris.
