I'm announcing I'm going to do a series of African-American mini-bios/what each person means to me posts this upcoming February, Black History Month, with 28 notable people being covered. This will be like the LGBTQ+ musicians posts last June, only it will cover significant and notable people, not just musicians. The reason for this is that systemic racism in the music business tends to pigeonhole African Americans into the Blues and Hip-Hop genres, and while they excel at those genres, that also means I'm not as familiar with as many African-American musicians as I am other musicians.
The 28 people I choose to write about are:
1-Ken Griffey Jr.
2-Chadwick Boseman
3-Jimi Hendrix
4-Kamala Harris
5-Kyle Lewis
6-Martin Luther King Jr.
