I recently completed Persona 5 Strikers and enjoyed the character of Makoto Niijima the most out of the party you have. I then read on DeviantArt yesterday that it's her birthday today, so, last night, I wrote this fan fiction about a birthday party for her.
Rise Kujikawa ran down the walkway, clutching a wrapped package in her hands. She slowed down as she saw a woman with aqua hair, standing by a woman with white hair, heading the same way she was at a more leisurely pace. “Lucina?” she asked.
“No, Byleth.” Said the woman, turning and smiling. “Oh, you’re that Mii Brawler. This is my wife, Edelgard, and your name is…?”
“Rise Kujikawa, I’m heading to a birthday party.” Replied Rise.
“So are we.” Muttered Edelgard. “Did you receive an invitation like this?” She handed a letter with a motorcycle with a human face on it to Rise.
“Yeah, guess we’re headed to the same party. How do you know Mako-chan?” asked Rise.
“Oh, her boyfriend asked us on a double date last week.” Replied Byleth. “She invited us at the end of the date.”
“She and I both have a passion for justice.” Smiled Edelgard. “How do you know her?”
“We had an adventure once.” Replied Rise.
“Ah, I take it then you know her boyfriend is Joker?” asked Byleth.
“Yeah, we’ve teamed up in Smash from time to time.” Said Rise. The three approached the address, a small suburban house that didn’t seem to stand out. A redhead in black leather walked in ahead of them. “Hi, Mitsuru!” called out Rise. The redhead turned.
“Why, Hello, Rise-chan.” She smiled. “And who are these two?”
“My name’s Byleth.” Smiled Byleth. “This is my wife, Edelgard.”
“Pleased to meet you.” Said Edelgard. “You sound familiar, have we met?”
“Maybe you’re familiar with me as the head of the Kirijo Company?” asked Mitsuru.
“That makes sense.” Replied Edelgard. The four approached the front door, Rise knocking. Joker, in his civilian garb, opened the door.
“Hey, you guys are right on time. Our gang has already arrived, but we don’t get too often to get together.” He said. The four entered, seeing Ann, Haru, Futaba, Yusuke, Ryuji, a woman with gray hair, a man with wavy hair, glasses and a goatee and a brown-haired woman in a trench coat holding a cellphone all seated at a table.
“Okay, I know you guys, but who are the two ladies and the older guy?” asked Rise.
“Sae Niijima, lawyer and sister of the birthday girl.” Said the gray-haired woman, shaking Rise’s hand.
“Zenkichi Hasegawa, PubSec. My daughter’s with the birthday girl right now.” Said the man.
“Kuon Ichinose, AI researcher at Toho University.” Said the other woman, holding up the phone.
“Hi there!” said a red-haired girl, appearing on the phone’s screen. “I’m Sophia, humanity’s companion!”
“Nice to meet you all.” Said Rise. “So, Toho University. Guess you get free movie tickets?”
“If I had a dime for every time I heard that joke…” muttered Ichinose.
“What is AI?” asked Edelgard.
“Artificial Intelligence, like Mega Man.” Explained Mitsuru. “Only, she just makes the brain. I take it this little cute thing is one of your creations?”
“You think I’m cute?” asked Sophia.
“She is, she’s even taught me a few valuable things.” Smiled Ichinose.
“You’re adorable, Sophia. I’m Mitsuru Kirijo, head of the Kirijo Company.” Replied Mitsuru.
“Rise Kujikawa, J-Pop idol.” Smiled Rise.
“Edelgard Von Hresvelg and my wife, Byleth, rulers of the Adrestian Empire of Fodlan.” Said Edelgard.
“How’d Makoto meet you?” asked Ann.
“Through Joker’s work.” Replied Byleth. Makoto descended the stairs, followed by a little girl.
“On three.” Said Joker. “1, 2…”
“Happy Birthday!” they all shouted.
“You know, this isn’t much of a surprise since you, Zenkichi and Ann were already here.” Replied Makoto softly to Joker. “But still, thank you, everyone. I’m so glad you all came.” She added, turning to everyone.
“Wouldn’t miss your birthday!” smiled Haru.
“We may have only just met, but I really wanted to make sure we keep being close, I’ve not met someone compassionate like you since school.” Added Edelgard.
“And I definitely wouldn’t miss it!” said Sophia.
“So, who are those four others?” asked Akane. Rise, Mitsuru, Byleth and Edelgard introduced themselves and that the first two met Makoto on an adventure, while the last two double dated with her and Joker. Makoto then sat down as Haru brought in a chocolate cake, Ann lighting the candles. They all sang the Happy Birthday song as Makoto smiled, feeling so blessed with all her friends, old and new, gathered around. She blew out the candles as Ann, Yusuke, Joker and Haru popped poppers, glad that everyone had arrived for her special day.
