I wrote this last night to feel better about how the series is going. It also reflects people's relationship with God as I understand it.
Yang looked out of the Hyrule Castle
window one cold night, feeling depressed.
She looked over to the bed, the love of her life, Blake Belladonna
sleeping soundly, her ears softly twitching.
Yang half-smiled at that, but couldn’t help it.
She had blown up at her sister in
front of Blake.
Sure, her feelings needed to be
addressed, when all was said and done, she trusted her gut instinct more than
Ruby’s fairly reckless fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants style of leadership, but
still, she had seen the look on Blake’s face and couldn’t stop going in one
direction. She brought back the
loneliness that had gnawed at her for almost a year…by choice. Worse yet, since then, she had a good idea
who it was that Blake and her had to end to be at peace, which made her feel
worse. She felt that by letting loose on
Ruby in such a fashion, by not helping Amity, she had shown her special
girlfriend there were elements of Adam Taurus in her heart.
Yang considered opening the window,
running off. How could things ever be
right between them? She had hurt her,
and worse, she had reopened old wounds doing so. Blake deserved better than her. She deserved someone who would treat her like
a Queen, someone who would put her first and themselves second. Yang simply couldn’t see herself as that
person. She opened the window. Blake rolled over and blinked her eyes open.
“Yang…?” she asked.
Yang stared at Blake, her heart
aching. She closed the window and bowed
her head. “How can you just forgive me?”
she asked. “I’m no better than he
was.” Blake got up, hugging Yang.
“You are, Yang. You invited me to dance, you tried to defend
me at Beacon, you helped me all the way to Atlas, you stood by me there…you’re
better than you think you are.” She said, rest her head on Yang’s chest.
“But I don’t put you first
enough. I raged at Ruby like he raged to
create the violent faction of the White Fang, I didn’t help you with Amity, I
almost got myself killed with the bomb trying to save Oscar…” muttered Yang.
“We all make mistakes; the point is
we stand up from them and learn.” Replied Blake.
“But you deserve someone who will
treat you like a Queen!” Said Yang, tears forming in her eyes. “I’ll never be that someone.”
“I don’t want someone who will treat
me better than them, I want YOU.” Replied Blake, softly kissing Yang’s
lips. Yang softly gasped as Blake got
back into bed, trying to go back to sleep.
Yang got in next to her, hugging her with her left arm as she also
drifted off.
The End
